Cathy, Practice Manager
My name is Cathy, and I am the Practice Manager for San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital.
I was born in Georgia and lived most of my life in the small town of Cairo, Georgia. My career in the veterinary field started over 23 years ago in Cairo when I went to work at Cairo Animal Hospital as a kennel attendant. I worked my way throughout areas of the hospital learning different aspects of the operations of a veterinary hospital. I worked as kennel attendant, groomer, technician, and receptionist over the many years of my employment there.
Shortly after moving to Jacksonville in 1998, I came to work at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital as a receptionist. A year later I was thrilled to be offered the position of Practice Manager. Since that time, I have been driven to maintain a well functioning hospital that strives to live up to our mission. My outlook on managing is that it is important for everyone, doctors and staff, to work together as a team to accomplish our goals of providing the best atmosphere possible for our clients and the highest quality veterinary care for our patients. The "Team" here at San Jose-Beauclerc is an excellent example of teamwork at its best. With much support from my family, I am currently finishing my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration to further improve my skills and knowledge as a manager.
My immediate family consists of my husband, Jeff, and my daughter, Cheney. We live in the Mandarin area with our 2 dogs: Napoleon & Daisy; 3 cats: Bart, Mocha, & Tabi; and 3 fish: Frick, Frack, & Arnold. All of my pets came from the hospital in some fashion, either as strays or give aways. My husband and I teach Sunday School for Pre K-Kindergarten aged children at Crown Point Baptist Church. We are also active members of the Jacksonville Hockey Booster Club of which I am on the Board of Directors and season ticket holders for the Jacksonville Barracudas, our local hockey team.
I am devoted to my career in the veterinary field and am amazed with the progression of veterinary medicine each year. It is a fun and intriguing environment to work in where I continue to learn and see new things everyday.

Deborah, Lead Receptionist
My name is Deborah and I am currently the Lead Receptionist at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital. I joined the team in November of 1999. I have always been very proud of the job that is done here. I enjoy the way the Veterinarians as well as the staff treat the pets and clients.
I was born and raised in Milton, Florida, just outside of Pensacola. I joined the Navy right after graduating from high school. After my return home from the military, I worked at the Gulf Breeze Zoo in the Education Department. I was in charge of the farm and petting zoo as well as training for the Domestic Animal Show and River Otter and Show. I also spent time working with the African elephant. In 1998, I moved to Jacksonville with my 2 children.
Shortly after moving to Jacksonville and beginning my job here, I began the "Tender Devotion Pet Rescue" which was very successful. I proudly found homes for 300 pets in 2 years. I also worked part-time as a Veterinary Technician at a local Emergency Clinic for a short period of time.
I currently live in Middleburg, Florida with my husband, Jeff, who is a 22 year veteran Paramedic/Firefighter with Clay County and our 3 "feline" children. (Smokey, Sage, and Shasta)
When I am not at work, I enjoy my position as Assistant Director of North Florida Paranormal Research, Inc. which my husband and I own. I am also a registered and trained C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) member for Clay County. My husband and I also enjoy playing our guitars and recording our songs for fun.

Michael, Veterinary Technician
My name is Michael. I graduated from Wolfson Sr. High School in 1987. I became a full-time firefighter/emergency medical technician in October of 1989. I was employed by St. Mary's fire rescue as a Lieutenant/EMT for 8 ½ years. In October of 1998, I was employed by St. Mary's Police Department as a police officer in training. I attended the Police Academy from January March of 1999 and graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia in March of 1999. Upon completion of the 420 hour police, I was employed as a police officer until January 2000. In September 1999, I was seriously injured in the line of duty and the injury, unfortunately, ended my career as a full time police officer. I have been able to fall back on my training as an EMT to enjoy a new career as a veterinary technician here at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital.
I have been married for 10 years and have 2 wonderful boys. I have 4 English bulldogs who are very special companions, and 4 cats that provide my dogs with lots of entertainment.
My most memorable moment at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital occurred when we treated a Bassett hound that had been bitten by a poisonous snake. Watching the anti-venom counteract the venom was truly remarkable. We have seen the dog several times since the attack, and it is doing very well.

Amber, Receptionist
My name is Amber. I have been with San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital since June 2002. I have always had a passion and interest in animals.
My earliest memories of interacting with animals were when I was about 8 years old. My Grandfather would allow me to tag along to the police K9 compound on his days off and I would watch for hours while he and the other officers would teach the dogs how to seek out drugs and criminals. I thought it was so neat, and after realizing just how smart animals really are, I was hooked.
My first dog was actually a German Shepherd whose attention was easily side tracked. The officers said he would not work for the unit. I remember begging my Grandfather for that dog! I think he may have thought he was too much dog for me at first…well, I named him Lucky!!
I now have 2 Rottweilers and a toy Rat Terrier, as well as 2 cats. I also have a little girl who is 5 years old and she is following in my footsteps. When I'm not at work or going to school, I enjoy spending time with my kidswe love going to the beach (where we can all, humans and dogs, can run wild).

Cameo, Receptionist
My name is Cameo. I came to San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital in March of 2001. I started working as a kennel attendant and quickly worked my way to the front end as a receptionist. It is really great to see satisfied clients and patients everyday, but the best part of my job is seeing the miracles this team works to keep animals healthy. There is nothing quite like seeing the faces of families reunited with their pet who has been restored to health.
I, myself, have three cats at home: Lailah, the queen; Cinder, the lover; and Kegero, our little ninja princess. Also, at home is Charlie, my best friend, support group, my rock, and my companion. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing a number of things: making music, making movies, yoga/meditation, art/music festivals, and anything else that just happens to come across my path that seems of interest. I hope to remain a part of the San Jose-Beauclerc team for many years to come.

Emily, Receptionist
My name is Emily and I am a receptionist at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital. I started working as a kennel attendant in September of 2002. I currently attend the University of North Florida and my intended major is English.
I have 2 Golden retrievers and a beta fish at home. I probably would have more pets, but I have to save room for the stray dogs I always seem to find in my free time. I'm definitely an animal lover, so, I can't resist picking up a stray on the side of the road. I have had a lot of assistance from the doctors in examining the dogs I pick up. The doctors are always willing to help and never seem to complain when I consistently bring in strays.
I feel very fortunate to work with such a wonderful team at San Jose-Beauclerc Animal Hospital. This has definitely been the best job I have ever had.
